Both of these systems use some of nature's forces like pressure, gravitational acceleration and water finding its own level. They are also completely separate form each other. Typically, these systems will mostly consist of a sewer system, some pipes taking away the waste water and some pipes bringing in clean water to your house. These basics will most certainly assist you when you start repairing.

Most plumbers will recommend different types of tools you may require for this job. All in all, you will first need protective clothing such as goggles, cloves and some safety boots to protect your feet.

Quality hand tools will save you a lot on cost as they tend to last longer. You must always aspire to buy the best tools in the market, they are a lot easier to maintain. A hammer, some pair of pliers, different sizes of screw drivers are a must have . Acetylene or propane touch will also be helpful if you have leak problems in your system. Some tube cutter, reciprocating saw, regular power drill and tape measure are also important to have.

Once you have assembled all the tools you now get down to work. To repair any of your plumbing problems, you will need some confidence with your tools, common sense and you are done. With time, the confidence will grow and you will be very good at doing these repairs.

You are most likely to encounter some leaking pipes in you house. This you will repair with some abrasive paper and acetylene or propane touch. You must also have your goggles, gloves and safety boots on as you seal these pipes. Some confidence when working with your tools and experience will be very helpful when doing this.

Also be sure that you store your tools correctly after you have completed your work. Though quality tools tent to be resistant to rust, it is good practice to wide them up before storing them. To be sure that some of them don't rust, always grease or oil just incase.

Before doing any plumbing activity in your house, always be sure to shut off the main valve. As you can see most repairs in this field only require a good mastery of the use of equipment and some common sense. Repairing most problems on your own will save you a lot of head ache, time and money.
